According to reports from WTHI-TV and MyWabashValley.com, the funding is provided through the State of Indiana’s READI program. This program is supported by Lilly Endowment Inc. And is administered by the Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC).
Homes for the Future Initiative
The approved funds are specifically designated to support the Homes for the Future
initiative. The primary objective of this effort is to remove blighted properties and facilitate the construction of new residential homes in the region.
The initiative focuses on the west central portion of the state, with reporting originating from Terre Haute. The $5 million pre-commitment is intended to address dilapidated structures that hinder local development while simultaneously increasing the total housing stock available to residents.
