The Indiana high school basketball postseason is heating up, with sectional championships decided across all four classes on Saturday, February 7th. Sixty-four teams remain in contention as they prepare for regional play, scheduled for February 14th.

Class 4A: Penn and Northridge Advance

In Class 4A, Penn dominated Adams, securing a decisive 62-15 victory in their sectional matchup. Meanwhile, Northridge edged out Warsaw in a closer contest, winning 63-60. These two teams will now represent their sectionals in the regional round.

Penn (24-3) will face Crown Point (21-4) at LaPorte High School on February 14th. Northridge (19-7) will take on Valparaiso (23-2) at Jimtown High School, also on February 14th. These regional matchups promise competitive contests as teams vie for a spot in the semi-state tournament.

Class 3A: Culver Academies and Fairfield Claim Sectional Titles

Culver Academies demonstrated their strength in Class 3A, defeating Saint Joseph 57-50 in their sectional final. Fairfield secured a narrow victory over Tippecanoe Valley, winning 30-28. Both teams will advance to the regional tournament.

Fairfield (19-6) will face Kankakee Valley (20-4) at Winamac High School on February 14th. Culver Academies (21-5) will battle Highland (18-6) at the same location later that evening. The Winamac regional is shaping up to be a key battleground in the 3A bracket.

Class 2A: Bremen Cruises to Regional Play

Bremen showcased their dominance in Class 2A, defeating Winamac 58-39 in their sectional final. Oak Hill also secured a sectional title, overcoming Rochester with a score of 32-21. Bremen’s strong performance positions them as a favorite in the regional tournament.

Bremen (22-2) will face Andrean (10-13) at LaPorte High School on February 14th. This regional matchup presents a contrast in records, with Bremen entering as the clear favorite.

Class 1A: Marquette Catholic and Elkhart Christian Victorious

Marquette Catholic delivered a commanding performance in Class 1A, defeating Washington 60-24 in their sectional final. Elkhart Christian also secured a sectional title, winning against Culver Community 37-27. Both teams will move forward to the regional tournament.

Marquette Catholic (22-3) will face Fremont (25-2) at Jimtown High School on February 14th. Elkhart Christian (21-4) will take on West Central (18-6) at Warsaw High School, also on February 14th. These regional games will be crucial in determining which teams advance to the semi-state level.

The IHSAA state tournament series is progressing rapidly, with sectionals now complete. The focus shifts to the regional matchups, where teams will compete for a chance to reach the semi-state tournament on March 21st, and the State Finals on March 28th. The intensity and excitement are building as Indiana high school basketball heads towards its championship conclusion.

The IHSAA season began with first practices on November 10th and first contests on November 24th. Sectionals took place on March 3rd and March 4th, followed by further games on March 6th and March 7th. Regionals are set for March 14th, with the semi-states on March 21st, culminating in the State Finals on March 28th.
