India’s Ministry of External Affairs issued an advisory on Saturday night urging its citizens to refrain from all non-essential travel to Venezuela. This guidance follows the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro by the United States in a large-scale operation targeting the capital city of Caracas, as announced by President Donald Trump.
The US action has created significant political uncertainty within Venezuela, drawing criticism from international powers like Russia adn China, who have condemned Washington’s operation and the capture of Maduro and his wife.
Travel Advisory and Safety Recommendations
The Ministry of External Affairs strongly advises all Indian nationals currently in Venezuela to exercise extreme caution and limit thier movements. They are also instructed to maintain contact with the Embassy of India in Caracas.
