The draw for the 2026 AFF Cup will take place in Jakarta on Thursday, january 15, 2026.
The Indonesian national team is now preparing for a new phase under the direction of John Herdman. The English coach was introduced on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, and immediately faces a significant challenge: ending Indonesia’s long wait for an AFF Cup title.
The AFF Cup is the most prestigious tournament in Southeast Asia, but Indonesia has never won it. The team has reached the final six times, but always fallen short.
Herdman will also have to contend with a new tournament schedule. The 2026 AFF Cup will be played in July and August.
