Jakarta, Indonesia – In ⁢a⁢ significant move to bolster its education sector and attract⁤ international talent, Indonesia’s immigration authority has announced the introduction⁣ of a Limited ‍Stay Visa (VITAS) specifically for foreign nationals pursuing non-formal ⁢education. This new visa category, indexed as E30, allows for stay permits of one or two years, catering to individuals seeking to enhance their skills and careers thru vocational training, language⁣ courses, and other specialized programs.

The policy, effective July 15, aims⁤ to support a ‍broader spectrum of educational pursuits beyond traditional academic⁢ institutions. Acting Director ‍General of Immigration, Yuldi yusman, stated that applications for the E30 visa can be submitted online through the official immigration portal at evisa.imigrasi.go.id.

“To apply,⁢ foreign nationals must have a guarantor – either an individual or the⁤ non-formal education ⁢institution they plan to attend,” Yusman explained, highlighting‍ the collaborative approach‍ to facilitating ⁣international ⁣student access.

Expanding Opportunities‍ for Skill Progress

The introduction of the E30⁢ visa is a strategic initiative designed to empower individuals looking to advance ⁢their professional lives. Whether it’s⁢ mastering a new language, acquiring ‍vocational skills,‍ or undertaking professional development courses, Indonesia is now ⁤more⁤ accessible ⁢for such endeavors.

key Requirements for the E30 Visa:

passport ⁢Validity: A passport valid for⁤ at‍ least six months.
Financial Proof: Evidence of ⁣sufficient funds to cover living expenses in Indonesia, with a minimum of US$2,000.
Photograph: A recent color photograph.
Guarantor: ⁣ An individual or ⁣the non-formal ⁢education institution.

The government has set competitive fees⁣ for this new visa category: Rp6 million for a one-year stay and Rp8.5 million ⁢for a two-year stay. These fees are designed to be accessible while reflecting the value of ⁣the extended stay opportunities.

Enhanced Options for Formal Education Visas

In conjunction with the ⁤new non-formal education visa, Indonesia has also extended the stay duration options for its formal education visa categories. The elementary and secondary education visa (E30A) and ⁤the higher education visa (E30B) ⁣now offer a four-year stay⁤ option,a significant increase from the⁢ previous one or two-year limits.

“Previously, stay permits for formal education were limited ⁢to one or⁢ two years,” ‍yusman noted, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ⁣providing longer-term support for students engaged in formal⁤ academic programs.

Applicants for the E30A and E30B visas can be ⁤sponsored by either individuals or accredited educational institutions. The fee for the extended four-year formal education visa is Rp12 million, while the fees for⁣ one- and two-year stays remain at Rp6 million and Rp8.5 million, respectively.

Boosting Indonesia’s Global ⁤Educational Standing

Indonesia currently boasts a ⁣robust ‍higher education landscape, with 3,115 institutions, including 125 public universities. The government is optimistic that these policy enhancements will considerably boost the country’s appeal to international students. With several⁢ Indonesian universities recognized‍ among the world’s ‍top 300, and a⁣ strong reputation in cultural studies and humanities programs, the nation is well-positioned to attract a diverse ⁤range of learners.

“We hope this policy opens more opportunities for foreign nationals to pursue both formal and non-formal education in Indonesia,” Yusman concluded. “it also serves as a strategic ⁣step to boost Indonesia’s global competitiveness through the education sector.”

This initiative underscores Indonesia’s dedication to fostering an inclusive and dynamic educational environment, welcoming ‍global talent to contribute to and benefit ‍from its growing academic‍ and professional landscape.
