“we hope that all the facilities and infrastructure wich have been well-prepared can help and serve the people on their trips,” Transportation Minister Dudy Purwagandhi said recently. “We also call on all travelers to be cautious of weather conditions.”
The ministry anticipates peak outbound travel on December 21st for Christmas and December 28th for New year’s. To mitigate potential traffic snarls, authorities are implementing several measures, including contraflow traffic schemes on major toll roads and temporary bans on cargo trucks during peak travel days. Essential goods like food and fuel will be exempt from these restrictions.
Security preparations are also in full swing, with police and military personnel deployed at key locations like airports, seaports, and shopping malls. National Police Chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo emphasized the commitment to ensuring a safe and secure holiday season for all.
