A new collaborative effort between the Ministry responsible for MSMEs and the Ministry responsible for Tourism aims to generate a powerful multiplier effect, boosting local economies and creating an estimated 25.6 million jobs.
The Ministries have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) outlining a commitment to synchronise tourism and MSME development policies and provide robust support to these vital sectors. As part of this initiative, a detailed roadmap is being prepared to ensure effective and targeted implementation.
The focus will be on optimising the tourism sector’s job-creation potential, estimated at 25.6 million positions. Particular emphasis will be placed on developing MSMEs in Indonesia’s more than six thousand tourism villages, with prioritised support planned for the coming year.
