Indonesian Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa swore in 27 primary high-ranking officials (echelon ​II) on Wednesday,January 28,2026. The ceremony took place ⁤at⁣ the Djuanda Hall in the Ministry of finance office in Jakarta.

“I,⁢ as the Minister‌ of Finance, hereby officially inaugurate you all into your new positions within the Ministry of Finance,” Purbaya said during the event.

The majority of the new appointments – 22 officials – are within ⁢the Directorate⁤ General of Customs and ‌Excise. ‌Three officials will serve in the Directorate General of treasury (DJPB), one in the Directorate General of ⁤State ​Assets (DJKN), and one in the⁤ Directorate General of Financial Sector Stability and development (DJSPSK).

Purbaya stressed the ‍importance of bolstering domestic demand amid global economic uncertainty. He warned that illegal smuggling ⁣hinders economic growth and that Customs and Excise officials ⁢are crucial in⁤ protecting the domestic ‌market from unfair competition.

“In ​the ‌future, we cannot⁣ take ‌things lightly because in‌ new positions, we will be closely monitored. If ⁣there are ​any disappointments, do not take it lightly,‍ I will rearrange things,”
