Another Indonesian peacekeeper serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) has died from wounds sustained in a March 29 attack in southern Lebanon, according to a UN spokesperson.
Corporal Rico Pramudia, 31, succumbed to his injuries on April 24, 2026, after being critically wounded when a projectile struck his position near Adchit Al Qusayr in southern Lebanon during ongoing hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah, said Stéphane Dujarric, spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, at a daily briefing.
Preliminary findings from a UNIFIL investigation indicated that a shell fired from an Israel Defense Forces Merkava tank hit a UNIFIL position, resulting in the deaths of Corporal Pramudia and another peacekeeper, Corporal Rhomadhon, during the same incident.
The Secretary-General expressed his deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Corporal Pramudia, as well as to the Government and people of Indonesia, and wished a full and fast recovery to the injured peacekeepers.
