Jakarta, Indonesia – In a push for a more obvious and efficient government, President prabowo Subianto has called for sweeping bureaucratic reforms aimed at eradicating corruption and preventing budget leakage.
Speaking at the “One Decade of Integrity Zone” event in Jakarta, State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform Minister Rini Widyantini emphasized the President’s commitment to tackling corruption head-on.”Of course, efforts to prevent corruption and supervision of law enforcement related to corruption must be tightened to prevent deviations,” she stated.
President Subianto’s vision for reform extends beyond simply rooting out corruption. He also seeks to create a more responsive bureaucracy that leverages technology to improve service delivery. “The President has asked that bureaucratic reforms reflect a more responsive bureaucracy and continue to push improvements,especially related to technology-based services,” Minister Widyantini explained.
The “One Decade of Integrity Zone” program, according to Minister Widyantini, serves as a crucial milestone in accelerating these reforms.”This bureaucratic reform will be a strong foundation in creating governance that is cleaner, more effective, and more efficient,” she affirmed.
The Integrity Zone initiative focuses on three key pillars: shifting bureaucratic mindsets and culture, developing pilot units for corruption-free areas (WBK) and clean and serving bureaucratic areas (WBBM), and fostering a positive work culture.
“It is expected that each pilot unit will be able to spread a work culture that is corruption-free, upholds high integrity, and is oriented toward excellent public services to othre units,” Minister Widyantini added.
Deputy for bureaucratic reform, apparatus accountability, and supervision at the Ministry of State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform, Erwan Agus Purwanto, highlighted the program’s progress. “Currently, more than 2,600 work units are working to achieve WBK and WBBM status,” he said.
