INFERNO ERUPTS: Massive Factory Blaze Engulfs Hanam Changwoo-dong, Fire Authorities Scramble to Contain Crisis
Factory Fire in Changwoo-dong, Hanam-si: Fire Department Responds with Level 1 Alert
A fire broke out at a factory in Changwoo-dong, Hanam-si, on September 3rd, prompting a Level 1 response from the fire department.
The fire started in a warehouse storing food and kitchen utensils, and as of 1:50 p.m., black smoke was covering the old downtown area of Hanam.
The fire department received a 119 report of black smoke coming from the factory and mobilized 19 fire trucks and about 60 firefighters to put out the fire.

In addition to the fire department’s response, the police, KEPCO, the City Gas Chemical Safety Agency, and the Han River Basin Environmental Office were notified to cooperate in suppressing the situation. A disaster text message was also requested from the Hanam City Disaster Situation Room.
As of now, no casualties have been confirmed. Fire officials issued a Level 1 alert at 1:25 p.m. due to concerns about the spread of the fire.
