A fire broke out in a factory on Lane 195 of Yongfeng Road, New Taipei City on the afternoon of the 14th. It urged people in the neighborhood to close their doors and windows.

(Central News Agency reporter Huang Jusheng, New Taipei City, 14) A fire broke out at a factory on Yongfeng Road, Tucheng District, New Taipei City today. After two-and-a-half hours of efforts, the fire was put out at around 5 pm and the detailed damage of the fire will be investigated.

The Municipal Fire Department reported that at 2:21 p.m. today, a fire broke out in a factory at Lane 195, Yongfeng Road, Tucheng District, and it started on the second floor.

Deputy Captain Chen Boru of the 5th Disaster Relief and Rescue Brigade said that after the first team of rescuers arrived at the scene, they found that the fire had spread to a factory and the fire continued to spread.

He said 94 vehicles of various types and more than 200 police fire fighters have been dispatched for continuous rescue and water lines have been installed in the surrounding areas.

Due to the thick smoke and intensity of the fire, even outside the surrounding areas, Zhonghe District and hardware parts factories as well as flammable furniture and chemical resin manufacturers were seen billowing into the sky. On the spot, the fire department brought the fire under control at 4 pm and doused it around 5 pm.

The fire department said that the area of the fire is about 1,400 square meters, and a total of three factories, including hardware parts, furniture, resin and other factories were burnt, and the fire identification center will investigate and explain the cause of the fire.

Firefighting Efforts

The fire department dispatched a large team of firefighters to combat the blaze. The firefighters worked tirelessly to bring the fire under control and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.

The fire department also installed water lines in the surrounding areas to prevent the fire from spreading. The firefighters used a combination of water and foam to extinguish the flames.
