BJP MPs Injured in Parliament Scuffle Remain Hospitalized
New Delhi: Two Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs,Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput,are recovering in Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) Hospital after sustaining head injuries during a heated altercation outside Parliament.Doctors are closely monitoring their condition, particularly Rajput’s elevated blood pressure.
“Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput had head injuries. Both have been given medication. Rajput ji’s blood pressure is still high. We are doing our best possible.Sarangi ji is an elderly person, and when there is pushing and shoving, teh BP could shoot up. This could lead to a heart arrest or stroke. Sarangi ji had been a cardiac patient. We are evaluating the situation,” said RML Medical Superintendent Dr. Ajay Shukla.
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh visited the injured MPs,confirming they would remain hospitalized for observation for the next two days.
“Pratap Sarangi has two stitches on his head, and Mukesh Rajput also has a head injury. Both are stable, but doctors have advised that they remain under observation for the next couple of days,” Singh said.
Union Minister BL verma, who visited Sarangi in the ICU, expressed concern over the incident, stating, “Sarangi ji is in the ICU and under treatment. I am deeply concerned about the incident, and I believe the Leader of Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, has disrespected the temple of democracy.”
The scuffle erupted after both NDA and INDIA bloc MPs staged protests on Parliament grounds. The clash escalated, resulting in injuries to the two BJP MPs.
The incident has further intensified the political divide, with the BJP and Congress filing cross-complaints over the altercation.
