Innogrid is developing an integrated management software platform for 5G-based mobile and flexible medical services aimed at disaster zones and medically underserved areas, fnnews.com reported on October 22, 2026. The project links medical devices, AI-driven diagnostic software, and hospital information systems into a single infrastructure.

Building the Mobile Medical Software Framework

The multi-agency project, running across five years starting in 2022, deploys modular mobile hospitals capable of delivering semi-tertiary medical care directly to emergency sites, disaster zones, and infectious disease outbreaks. Innogrid participates in a specific sub-project focused on creating flexible medical 5G edge computing software tailored for custom mobile health services.

To ensure rapid diagnosis, the platform connects bedside medical devices and diagnostic AI tools with electronic medical records and cloud-based hospital information systems. Innogrid handles the service system integration framework, software lifecycle management, and the unification of medical infrastructure. Because mobile hospitals encounter unpredictable network environments and variable resources at different deployment sites, managing both the hardware infrastructure and clinical services within a unified system remains critical for steady operation.

Testing Multi-Agency Disaster Scenarios in Okcheon

Participating research organizations conducted a joint multi-agency demonstration on October 8, 2026, in Okcheon, North Chungcheong Province, simulating a complex disaster scenario involving 30 people. The drill integrated mobile hospital modules, AI-equipped ambulances, and software platforms to test operational readiness and field suitability under evaluation by an external expert panel. Evaluators measured data synchronization speeds, processing performance, and cloud-based health record sharing alongside 5G network stability and emergency failover procedures.

Beyond healthcare platforms, Innogrid applies its edge computing architecture to urban traffic control and smart construction projects. The firm currently leads a cloud initiative connecting distributed micro-data centers across industrial plants and hospitals into a cohesive management model. Innogrid views these deployments as part of a broader vision extending artificial intelligence operations beyond traditional data centers directly into active operational environments.

Kim Myung-jin, CEO of Innogrid, noted that as AI usage moves from data centers and the cloud into industrial sites, the ability to connect infrastructure, AI, and service software into a single system to ensure stable operations is becoming increasingly important.

Innogrid plans to refine its 5G edge computing and integrated service operations to broaden the deployment footprint of industrial AI frameworks across multiple sectors.
