To maintain continuity of care during the storm, nurses Caroline Manzone and William Doherty used a snowmobile to reach patients in Fall River, Massachusetts.

Nurse Jeanne ChaCha traveled on foot for 30 minutes from her home in the Charlestown neighborhood of Boston to visit a blind patient in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

This intervention was necessary because the patient’s aides were unable to reach him due to the blizzard conditions.
