Inter Milan beat Atalanta 4-0 in the third round of the Italian league
Inter Milan, the champions of the Italian first division, achieved a comprehensive victory (4-0) against their guests Atalanta in the opening match of the third round today, Friday, achieving their second consecutive win at home. new season
After a draw with Genoa and a 2-0 win against Lake, Inter beat Atalanta with two goals in each half and temporarily lead the standings with seven points.
Nicolò Barella doubled the lead with a superb shot from the edge of the penalty area seven minutes later, opening the scoring with Thuram’s low cross to turn the ball into his own goal just three minutes after the first whistle.
Frenchman Marcus Thuram scored twice on the stroke of half-time, taking advantage of a counter-attack behind the visitors’ poor defence, to shoot in from close range in the 47th and 56th minutes to secure victory for his side.
Markus Thuram, who scored a double, won the man of the match award.
The third round of the Italian league will continue tomorrow, Saturday and the day after Sunday.
