India Readies for International Day of Yoga 2025

India is set to celebrate the 11th international Day of Yoga on June ​21 with numerous events planned across the country. The Yoga sangam, a​ flagship ​event, will take place in‌ Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the Yoga Sangam event as part of a two-day visit⁤ to Bihar,‌ Odisha, adn Andhra Pradesh that began⁢ Thursday.

Before the yoga event, Modi will inaugurate⁤ growth projects in Siwan, Bihar, ​on Friday, boosting infrastructure and socio-economic growth⁤ in the region. The ⁢Yoga Sangam is among ⁢10‍ signature events‍ for this year’s yoga Day, themed “Yoga for⁢ One Earth, One ⁢Health.”

The Yoga Sangam will ⁤feature a synchronized mass yoga exhibition based on ⁣the ⁢Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) at more than 100,000 locations across India on June 21, 2025, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. Modi will ‍lead the national event in Visakhapatnam, Andhra pradesh. This collective party aims to ⁢reaffirm the shared commitment to yoga and⁣ its relevance.

Delhi Chief ​Minister Rekha Gupta will practice yoga on ⁤the banks of the yamuna River to mark the International Day of Yoga. Gupta said the Delhi government will⁢ celebrate International Yoga Day with enthusiasm.

The‍ Indian Army,partnering⁣ with Indian diplomatic missions and cultural centers,is also commemorating the International Day ‌of⁢ Yoga 2025 at various international locations. These events align with the​ global theme of fostering health, harmony, and holistic well-being.

Former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu ‌said‌ Friday⁢ that yoga is beneficial for both body and mind, promoting balance and ⁤positive thinking. Naidu, along with Union ‌Minister G Kishan Reddy, and Telangana Governor Jishnu ‍Dev Varma, practiced‍ yoga at Lal Bahadur Stadium, ​Hyderabad, during a‌ 24-hour countdown‌ event organized by the Ministries of⁤ Steel, Coal, and Mines.

In Ahmedabad, Gujarat, about ⁢1,000 National Cadet Corps cadets performed yoga ⁢Friday. GS Vidyarthi, Commanding Officer⁤ from the Ahmedabad unit⁤ of NCC, ‌said yoga keeps cadets physically and mentally fit.
