Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles Spring 2026: Trends, Sustainability & New Pavilion

March 7, 2026 Ahmed Hassan - World News Editor World

SHANGHAI – The home textiles industry is preparing for the Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition 2026, set to open March 11 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai. The event, running through March 13, will bring together over 360 exhibitors from six countries and regions, showcasing a broad spectrum of products from bedding and towelling to carpets and textile technologies.

The fair arrives as China’s consumer market continues to evolve, with a growing emphasis on what industry observers are calling the ‘sleep economy.’ Organizers say the event will spotlight eco-conscious products, functional textiles and solutions geared towards improving sleep quality, reflecting a broader trend towards wellness-driven lifestyles. This focus comes as consumers increasingly prioritize both the quality and sustainability of their home furnishings.

Exhibitors are responding to this demand. O Jia He Home Textile will showcase carpets crafted from recyclable and degradable materials, while Tourgo will present bedding, including pillow cores made from 100% naturally degradable materials. Other companies highlighting sustainable practices include Foshan Recoton Textile, Nantong Textile Innovative Plaza, Suzhou Synteks, and Wujiang City Yunjie Textiles. Newcomers to the fair this year, Jiangsu Rayfull Textile Technology and Nibo Sixiang Home Technology, will also be presenting their offerings.

Beyond sustainability, the fair will also emphasize innovation in design and technology. The Designer Pavilion will feature creativity-led designs, including original hand-drawn textile printing patterns from Haoyun Home Decoration (Nantong), created by a team from the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. Nantong Banxia (North Star) will focus on research and development of premium home textiles, blending ergonomics, material science, and aesthetics to create comfortable sleep experiences. Nantong Xinganxian Home Textile Design will showcase sleep technology and design solutions for leading brands.

This year’s edition will also see the debut of the Uzbekistan Pavilion, organized by the Agency for the Development of Light Industry under the Cabinet of Ministers of Uzbekistan. Approximately ten companies will represent Uzbekistan’s textile industry, highlighting its strengths in cotton yarn, traditional craftsmanship, and sustainable practices. The pavilion aims to showcase the country’s capabilities across the textile value chain, including bedding, bath products, apparel fabrics, and garment production.

The Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles fair attracts major international buyers, including Adairs, Lidl & Kaufland, MUJI, Otto Group, Sainsbury’s, Tesco, and The Home Depot, as well as key domestic players. Organizers emphasize the event’s role as a platform for exchanging ideas on product development, particularly in response to the expanding ‘sleep economy’ and increasing consumer demand for sustainable products. This exchange is expected to foster new partnerships and facilitate the adoption of commercially viable trends.

A revamped fringe programme will accompany the exhibition, centered around four key themes: Palette, NextGen, Go-Green, and Connector. These sessions will feature expert-led forums, seminars, and panels addressing emerging trends in sleep health, multi-sensorial design, and sustainable materials.

The Sleeping Aid Summit 2026 will bring together industry leaders and researchers to explore the integration of sleep health with home textiles. The summit will launch the 2026 Sleep Aid Report and feature a Sleep Aid Display Area showcasing innovative products designed to enhance sleep experiences. Pantone Color Institute Vice President Laurie Pressman will lead a session on “Colour Sense*Ability: Transforming a Home into a Personal Haven in 2027 Through Multi-Sensorial Design,” exploring the impact of colour, scent, and texture on wellbeing.

Additional sessions will focus on innovative fibres, including Lenzing’s offerings, and the use of Evolon anti-mite material in bedding applications. These discussions reflect a broader industry trend towards developing materials that are both functional and environmentally responsible.

The Intertextile Shanghai Home Textiles – Spring Edition 2026 will be held concurrently with Intertextile Shanghai Apparel Fabrics – Spring Edition, Yarn Expo Spring, CHIC, and PH Value at the National Exhibition and Convention Center. The event is organized by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd; the Sub-Council of Textile Industry, CCPIT; and the China Home Textile Association (CHTA).
