Inglewood, California – The February 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend spotlighted not only the new Intuit Dome as a venue for basketball, but also as a showcase for cutting-edge sports technology. Central to this technological demonstration is a massive, ring-shaped screen constructed by Daktronics, spanning over 3,500 square meters.

The recent events surrounding the All-Star Weekend served as a crucial test of the arena’s technology, positioning the Intuit Dome as one of the most technologically advanced sports venues globally. The centerpiece of this innovation is the “Halo Board,” described as the largest double-sided video board ever installed in an arena.

The arena, designed to accommodate approximately 18,000 fans, features a network of advanced audiovisual solutions from Daktronics. This integration extends beyond the sheer scale of the Halo Board, encompassing the venue’s ability to ingest data from the audience and react in real-time, coupled with custom-designed seating.

One particularly engaging feature highlighted during timeouts involves a game hosted by a digital persona named “The Mentalist.” Appearing as a golden orb on the Halo Board, The Mentalist challenges fans to guess a color – red, blue, green, or yellow – using buttons embedded in the armrests of their seats. Each seat is hardwired with power and equipped with a four-button gamepad. The arena’s lighting system dynamically reflects the voting process, illuminating the chosen colors and eliminating fans who guess incorrectly by turning off the lights embedded in their seat armrests. This continues until a winner, or the board itself, prevails.

Clippers Chief Marketing Officer Claudia Calderon explained that the team aimed to “re-imagine even the traditional stuff that people love and use the tech in the building and take it to the next level.” This approach renders traditional in-arena entertainment, such as “Kiss Cams,” comparatively simplistic.

Beyond the Halo Board, the Intuit Dome incorporates a “Jersey Wall” displaying over 1,500 basketball jerseys from high schools across California. This installation serves as a tribute to the state’s rich basketball heritage. Fans can locate their high school’s jersey using a custom application, which also provides background information about the school and its notable alumni.

Dimensional Innovations, a US-based design firm, was responsible for the digital planning, branding, and integration of various digital signage and experiential design elements within the arena. They also designed the interactive team store and the signage content for the arena’s roof and facade.

Digital kiosks located outside the arena are synchronized with the LED system on the roof, creating a cohesive visual experience. The venue utilizes Misapplied Sciences’ “Parallel Realities” system in the concourse area, enabling the display of personalized messages and wayfinding information to individual users on the same screens simultaneously.

Dimensional Innovations also oversaw the redesign of the LA Clippers’ locker rooms and player tunnel following a team rebranding. Prior to the 2024 opening of the Intuit Dome, the firm had already completed the design of the 1,000-square-meter Clippers Experience Center, which features interactive exhibits and a basketball court equipped with a “Dunk Cam.”

The integration of technology at the Intuit Dome represents a significant investment in enhancing the fan experience. The arena’s features aim to create a more immersive and interactive environment, moving beyond traditional sports entertainment to offer a uniquely engaging experience for attendees. The venue’s success in blending cutting-edge technology with the energy of live sports could set a new standard for arena design and fan engagement worldwide.
