IOS 18.1 Update Alert: What to Expect from Tonight’s Official Release

Apple officially launched iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, watchOS 11.1, tvOS 18.1, macOS Sequoia 15.1 and other RC versions last week and they will be officially pushed to users this week. Apple is expected to officially push it to users on October 28, 2024. As per past practice, this will be at 1am on October 29th Hong Kong/Taiwan time.

Big improvements to Siri

The new Siri has richer language understanding and when called, a glowing effect will appear around the edges of the screen. If you want to use Siri quietly, you can manually use the “Type Siri” function.

Plus, Siri can speak as you pause or change your mind, maintaining contextual understanding during the conversation, letting you more naturally refer back to what you said in a recent request or what Siri said in a recent response.

Intelligent photo management

Photo Search lets you find photos and videos describing just what you’re looking for, and create short memories describing the stories you want to see.

Clear images of pedestrians

The new Clean Up function can remove annoying elements in photos, such as pedestrians, clutter, etc. It analyzes the elements of the photo and displays the range that can be removed, allowing the user to manually select what needs to be cleaned.

Summary of Notification

Notification Summary Makes it easy to keep track of notifications with a short summary of your most important information This “distraction reduction” is a new focus mode that ensures the most urgent notifications reach you while silencing potential distractions.

Call recording

Call recording and transcription lets you record calls instantly and transcribe them in the Notes app. Users can then convert the recording into a summary.
