IOS 26: Apple’s Supercharged iPhone Update
# iOS 26 Beta 3: What’s New in Apple‘s Latest iPhone Preview
Apple continues to refine iOS 26 with the release of Beta 3, bringing performance improvements and subtle visual tweaks to the latest iPhone operating system. While still in advancement, this beta offers a closer look at what we can expect when iOS 26 officially launches this fall. Here’s a breakdown of the key changes and what they mean for iPhone users.
## Visual Refinements: the Evolution of ‘Liquid Glass’
One of the most noticeable changes in iOS 26 Beta 3 revolves around the visual aesthetic Apple is calling “Liquid Glass.” initial betas showcased a strong glowing effect around interface elements. Though, Beta 3 shifts towards a more subdued, frosted-glass appearance.

This change is a direct response to feedback from developers and beta testers who found the initial glow a bit too distracting. The frosted look offers a more refined and less overwhelming visual experience, blending seamlessly with the overall iOS interface. It’s a subtle shift, but one that contributes to a more polished feel. Personally, I’m leaning towards the frosted look – it feels a little more refined and easier on the eyes.
## Performance Boost: A Smoother iOS Experience
One of the biggest complaints surrounding iOS 26 Beta 1 and 2 was occasional sluggishness, especially when launching and switching between apps. Apple appears to have addressed these concerns in Beta 3.
Testers are reporting a noticeable betterment in fluidity. While the difference might not be instantly obvious, apps launch faster and multitasking feels more responsive. This is fantastic news,as performance is crucial for a positive user experience. It suggests Apple is actively optimizing the operating system under the hood.
## New Wallpaper Styles: Personalize Your iPhone
Beyond the visual and performance tweaks, iOS 26 Beta 3 introduces new customization options for the default wallpaper. Users can now choose from four distinct styles: Shadow, Sky, Halo, and Dusk.
