Apple’s iOS 26 features a new “liquid Glass” design, emphasizing transparency. This allows background content to subtly show through interface elements. For users who prefer a more opaque look or need enhanced readability, iOS offers a solution.
the “Reduce Transparency” accessibility option adds a darker background to translucent areas, such as the Control Center and app folders. This increases contrast and can make the interface easier to view.
To enable this feature, navigate to Settings, then Accessibility, followed by Display & Text Size. Here, you can toggle “Reduce Transparency” on or off. For quick access, add it to Accessibility Shortcuts within the Control Center.
Enabling Reduce transparency provides a more solid appearance without completely eliminating the new visual style. The fundamental layout and button shapes remain consistent with the iOS 26 design.
