iPhone 16 Pro Series: Enhanced Video Recording Capabilities and New Features
Recent reports suggest that the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro series will support 4K 120fps video recording, a significant upgrade from the iPhone 15 Pro series, which only supports 4K 60fps.
According to sources, Apple has also tested 8K video recording on the iPhone 16 Pro series, although it remains uncertain whether this feature will be enabled. If 8K video recording becomes available, users may face storage constraints, as 256GB of space may be insufficient.
Currently, shooting one minute of 10-bit ProRes 1080P video on an iPhone takes up approximately 1.7GB, while 4K mode reaches 6GB. The storage requirements for 8K video would be significantly higher, making 256GB of space inadequate and necessitating the purchase of 512GB or 1TB versions.
The iPhone 16 series will also introduce a new image format, JPEG-XL, and the newly added photo button will support third-party camera programs. Additionally, the iPhone 16 Pro features a periscope telephoto lens, supporting 5x optical zoom.
