iPhone Display Predictions: Notchless by 2030?
Updated June 26, 2025
The rumor mill is churning with speculation about the future of iPhone displays. Reports suggest potential changes to the iPhone 18 Pro, the foldable iPhone, and even models beyond 2026.
Digital Chat Station reported that the iPhone 18 Pro might integrate Face ID components under the display, leaving only a small camera cutout. This would mark a notable step in the evolution of the iPhone’s design.
However, display analyst Ross Young offered a different outlook on the timeline for these changes. He anticipates a more gradual evolution:
- 2026: A smaller Dynamic Island, but not a complete elimination.
- 2028: The removal of the Dynamic Island, replaced by a simple camera cutout.
- 2030: An all-screen design with no cutouts.
In addition to these display predictions, Digital Chat station shared details about the iPhone Fold, expected next year. The device is rumored to have a slightly smaller inner display than previously anticipated, along with two 48MP rear lenses.
M5 iPad Pro Production Update
The next iPad Pro, powered by Apple’s M5 chip, is expected to launch in the fall. A recent supply chain update supports this timeline.
ZDNet Korea reported that Samsung and LG have begun mass production of the OLED panels for the new M5 iPad Pro. Production reportedly started earlier in June.
What’s next
The launch of the M5 iPad Pro is expected to coincide with the wide release of iPadOS 26, showcasing the enhanced capabilities of the iPad.
