The iPhone 17 lineup, including the iPhone 17 Pro and the new iPhone Air, has entered a period of aggressive discounting across major U.S. Retailers and mobile carriers. Following their launch on September 19, 2025, these devices are now available through various promotional offers that significantly reduce the entry cost for consumers through trade-ins and service contracts.

Carrier and Retailer Promotions in the U.S.

Major U.S. Carriers are currently offering substantial incentives to attract both new and existing customers. Verizon is providing the iPhone 17 Pro for free to users who provide an eligible phone trade-in and subscribe to an Unlimited Ultimate plan.

AT&T is offering a similar deal, providing the iPhone 17 Pro at no cost with a trade-in of an iPhone 13 or higher, though the iPhone 13 Mini is specifically excluded from this offer.

T-Mobile has focused its promotions on the iPhone Air. Customers who switch to T-Mobile and add a line on Experience plans can obtain the iPhone Air for free.

Beyond carrier contracts, Best Buy is offering up to $1,100 off the iPhone 17 Pro for customers with a qualified trade-in.

Direct Purchase and Trade-in Options

For those purchasing directly from Apple in the U.S., the unlocked iPhone 17 starts at $829. Apple is providing trade-in credits ranging from $200 to $700 for users trading in an iPhone 13 or newer model, although most users are expected to receive approximately $400.

Direct Purchase and Trade-in Options

an extra $30 discount is available to those who activate their device with Boost Mobile, AT&T, T-Mobile, or Verizon.

Product Lineup and Market Reception

The current generation of iPhones consists of the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max and the iPhone Air, all of which were released in September 2025. The lineup was further expanded in March 2026 with the introduction of the iPhone 17e.

Early user and reviewer feedback indicates a positive shift in the reception of the iPhone 17’s design, which had initially been criticized online. Reviewers have specifically highlighted significant improvements in battery life and the performance of the selfie camera.

International Availability and Other Tech Deals

In the U.K. Market, discounts are available through resellers such as Amazon, where the 256GB model of the iPhone Air has seen a price reduction of £200.

Concurrent with these smartphone promotions, other consumer electronics are seeing price drops at major retailers. Amazon has reduced the price of the Fitbit Inspire 3 by $30, and the Amazon Fire TV 4-Series is currently discounted by $160.
