Apple is preparing to add support for digital car keys to select Cadillac vehicles,according to code discovered by MacRumors.Cadillac has been added to AppleS internal list of compatible vehicles for this feature.
How Digital car Keys Work
Apple introduced NFC-based digital keys in teh Wallet app in 2022, allowing users to lock, unlock, and start compatible vehicles with an iPhone or Apple Watch using near Field Dialog (NFC) technology.
WWDC 2025 Proclamation
during WWDC 2025, Apple announced that 13 vehicle brands would “soon” support digital car keys, including Cadillac. The full list of brands included Acura, Porsche, GMC, Chevrolet, Rivian, Smart, Lucid Motors, Tata Motors, Hongqi, WEY, Chery, and Voyah.
Implementation Requires GM action
while Apple has added backend support for GM, Voyah, and Smart vehicles, the functionality isn’t yet active. For Cadillac vehicles to gain car key support,General Motors (GM) must enable the feature.
GM has not yet specified which Cadillac models will be compatible with the digital car key feature.
current Vehicle Compatibility
