iPhone Charging Time Estimates Arrive in iOS 26
A new iPhone feature in iOS 26 estimates charging time, whether using a cable or wireless charger. Unveiled at Apple’s WWDC 2025, this enhancement aims to provide users with accurate predictions of when their battery will reach full charge.
When an iPhone is plugged in,the lock screen displays a message like “X% to 80%” above the clock,indicating the estimated time to reach 80% charge. For example, an iPhone at 22% might show it will reach 80% in 44 minutes. Tests confirm the accuracy of these estimates.
Users will also see a “Slow Charger” label on the lock screen when using a low-power charger. This label does not appear when a fast charger is connected.
After the iPhone reaches 80%, users can find the remaining charging time to 100% in the Settings app. Navigate to Settings > Battery to view the full charging status at the top of the page.
The charging time estimate depends on the user’s set charge limit, another new feature in iOS 26. in Settings > battery > Charging, users can select a charge limit from 80% to 100% in 5% increments. The estimated time will reflect the time to reach the selected limit.
apple has also revamped the Battery settings page, providing more battery statistics and introducing Adaptive Power Mode, an intelligent battery saver.
