Apple Siri Privacy Lawsuit: Payouts Are Now Arriving
Apple is now distributing payouts from a class action lawsuit filed over the recording of siri conversations. The suit, dating back to 2019, alleged Apple unlawfully and intentionally recorded conversations with its voice assistant. Apple denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the case to move forward.
Users began submitting claims last year, and many are now receiving funds.to qualify for a payment, you must have purchased a Siri-enabled Apple device between September 17, 2014, and December 31, 2024, and experienced an unintended Siri activation.
Individuals could submit claims for up to five devices. While the initial $95 million settlement estimated payouts of up to $20 per device, with a maximum of $100, the actual amount appears to be around $8.02 per device,capped at $40.10.
If you participated in the settlement,direct deposits started appearing yesterday. Those who chose a prepaid gift card or check should check their email spam folders and mailboxes.
