The Delhi Capitals (DC) overcame a shaky run of form to defeat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a crucial IPL eliminator match in Abu Dhabi. After a string of losses, DC needed a strong performance, and they delivered, thanks to an all-round display led by Marcus Stoinis and Shikhar Dhawan.

A tactical masterstroke saw Stoinis promoted to open the batting, a move that paid dividends instantly. He provided the much-needed impetus in the powerplay, taking on the SRH bowlers and allowing Dhawan to settle in.
Stoinis’s aggressive start propelled DC to 65 runs in the powerplay. Although Rashid Khan eventually dismissed him, Dhawan took charge, ensuring the momentum didn’t wane. Dhawan’s impressive 78 anchored the innings, highlighting his importance to the Delhi batting lineup. He has scored 603 runs this season.

Shimron Hetmyer’s late hitting threatened to push DC past 200,but disciplined bowling from T. Natarajan restricted them to 189-3. Natarajan and Khan were the standout bowlers for SRH.
