DFA Lowers Alert Level in Iran⁢ Amidst Declining Repatriation Needs

Manila, Philippines – The ⁢Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has announced ⁤a important adjustment in its⁤ alert level for Iran, moving from Alert Level 4 (Mandatory Evacuation) to Alert ⁢Level 3 (Voluntary Repatriation). This decision reflects ⁤a notable decrease in the number of Filipinos seeking repatriation assistance from the ‍region.

The DFA emphasized ‍its commitment to closely monitoring ‍the situation⁢ and has assured ⁣the public that it will make further updates to the alert levels⁣ as deemed necessary. This proactive stance ensures the safety and well-being⁣ of Filipinos abroad.

Recent Repatriation⁢ Efforts Highlight Ongoing Support

Earlier this⁣ month, the DFA, alongside other ⁤key agencies including⁢ the ⁣Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), Overseas Workers Welfare Governance (OWWA),⁤ and the Department of Social Welfare and Progress (DSWD), jointly welcomed ⁤two more groups of evacuees repatriated from Iran via Turkmenistan on July 4 and 5, 2025.

A total of thirteen more evacuees⁢ in two groups from Iran, comprising eleven⁣ overseas Filipinos (OFs) and two overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), assisted ‍by the DFA’s Rapid Response‍ Team (RRT) contingent⁤ in Turkmenistan, arrived at NAIA Terminal 3 in the⁣ Philippines. Representatives from the DFA-Office ⁤of the Undersecretary for Migration Affairs (DFA-OUMA) were present during their arrivals, underscoring the government’s dedication⁣ to ⁤assisting its citizens.

The recent lowering of the alert level in Israel, a⁤ neighboring⁣ country, is believed⁤ to have prompted a decline in the number of Filipinos who seek⁣ repatriation‍ assistance ⁣to evacuate from Iran ⁤to nearby⁤ countries. This suggests a stabilization of conditions in the broader region, contributing to the⁣ DFA’s decision.

Nevertheless, the DFA’s Foreign Service Posts ⁤(FSPs) remain steadfast and ⁤ever-ready in assisting Filipinos in distress through ‍any means⁤ necessary. Their continued vigilance and readiness to provide support demonstrate the ⁤DFA’s unwavering dedication to the welfare of overseas Filipinos.
