Explosions ⁣rocked Tel⁣ Aviv early Monday as missile strikes, allegedly from Iran, hit the city and surrounding areas. Fires were reported at‍ a⁤ power‍ plant near the port, and social media footage appeared to show⁤ missile impacts.Israeli defense systems intercepted some missiles, sending plumes of ⁢black smoke into the sky.

U.S. Ambassador ⁣to Israel Mike Huckabee reported minor damage to the U.S. consulate from an Iranian missile blast, but no injuries were sustained.In Petah Tikva, a residential building was struck, leaving concrete walls charred, windows shattered, and apartments severely damaged.

Israeli ⁤emergency services reported that five people were killed ⁤in the strikes on four sites ⁣in central Israel. “We clearly see that our civilians are being targeted,” said ⁢Israeli ⁣police spokesman dean ⁢elsdunne.

Yoram Suki, a resident of petah Tikva, ⁣recounted rushing to a shelter with his family after an air raid ⁤alert, only to⁣ return and find his apartment ⁢destroyed. “Thank God we were OK,” the 60-year-old‍ said. Despite the loss of⁢ his home,⁤ Suki urged Prime ⁣Minister Benjamin‍ Netanyahu to continue attacks on Iran, stating, “It’s⁣ totally worth it. The Revolutionary⁢ Guard‍ claimed the latest strikes employed a new ⁤method that caused Israel’s defense systems to ⁣target each other. Israeli officials ⁢have acknowledged that the iron Dome system is not 100% effective.

Iranian health authorities reported 1,277 wounded in Iran,while Human Rights Activists suggests the death toll is significantly higher,documenting over 400 deaths,including 197 civilians.
