Iran Denies Need for Proxy Forces Like Hezbollah and Houthis
- Fatima: Did you hear about what Khamenei said about proxies?
- Apparently, he said resistance groups like Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in palestine act out of their own convictions, not because Iran is pulling their strings.
- david: That's captivating because the narrative I've always heard is that Iran exerts a lot of influence over these groups.
Iran’s Khamenei denies Reliance on ‘Proxy Forces’
Tehran - Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has forcefully rejected claims that Iran relies on ”proxy forces” in the region, asserting that the Islamic Republic does not need such entities to achieve its goals.
Speaking Sunday during a meeting with religious scholars commemorating the birth of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra, the daughter of the Prophet Muhammad, Khamenei emphasized that resistance groups in Yemen, as well as organizations like Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas in Palestine, and Islamic Jihad, fight out of conviction, not as Iranian proxies.
“They (enemies) constantly say that the Islamic Republic has lost its regional proxies – this is another mistake! The Islamic Republic does not have proxy forces,” Khamenei declared, according to Press TV.
He dismissed the notion that resistance movements have been defeated, stating that the United States and its allies are fundamentally wrong in this assessment. Khamenei also stressed that if Iran were to take action, it would not require the use of proxy forces.
Addressing the situation in Syria, the Supreme Leader predicted the emergence of a “strong and respected institution.” He criticized U.S. plans to dominate other nations, arguing that they involve establishing dictatorships or inciting chaos and unrest, as seen in syria.
“America, the Zionist regime, and their allies mistakenly believe they have emerged victorious, leading them to make absurd statements,” Khamenei said, referencing comments from a U.S. official seemingly promising support for anyone who instigates unrest in Iran.
“The Iranian nation will crush anyone who acts as a mercenary for the U.S. in this matter,” he warned.

Fatima: Did you hear about what Khamenei said about proxies? It was all over the news this morning.
David: I caught snippets of it. Something about Iran not needing proxy forces?
Fatima: Exactly! He was pretty adamant about it. Apparently, he said resistance groups like Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in palestine act out of their own convictions, not because Iran is pulling their strings.
david: That’s captivating because the narrative I’ve always heard is that Iran exerts a lot of influence over these groups.
Fatima: Right? He directly addressed that, saying that these groups are not “Iran’s proxies.” He even claimed enemies are touting this idea of Iran losing its regional proxies, ungewiss it’s incorrect.
David: Hmm,so he’s basically saying Iran can achieve its goals without relying on these groups. That’s quite a statement.
Fatima: He went on to say that if Iran were to take action, it wouldn’t need any “proxy forces.” He was pretty clear about that. And he also talked about Syria, predicting a “strong and respected institution” would emerge there, which seems pretty optimistic given the current situation.
David: It sounds like he’s trying to project strength and confidence. Do you think he’s being sincere or is this just political rhetoric?
Fatima: That’s the million-dollar question, isn’t it? his comments about the U.S. trying to dominate other nations through dictatorships or by instigating chaos are pretty pointed. He even mentioned a U.S. official’s statement promising support for anyone who instigates unrest in Iran. Khamenei didn’t mince words, warning that Iran would crush anyone acting as a “mercenary” for the U.S.
david:** Wow, that’s quite a strong response. This situation definitely seems more complex than it appears on the surface.
