Iran Insists on Uranium Enrichment​ Rights in Nuclear talks

Iran will not abandon its right to⁤ uranium enrichment, according to Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araqchi. Speaking in Cairo alongside Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty, Araqchi stated that no nuclear agreement‌ with the U.S. would be signed ⁣if it meant giving up this⁣ right.

Araqchi⁤ emphasized Iran’s stance on its nuclear program, citing ⁣the ​Nuclear⁣ Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). He said ⁢Iran⁣ is entitled to benefit ⁢from nuclear technology. ‌He added that the nation has‍ made⁤ sacrifices for its ⁢nuclear ⁤achievements.

Regarding indirect talks with the‍ U.S., the Iranian Foreign Minister‍ said⁤ that ‍an agreement is possible if the goal⁤ is to assure that Iran isn’t pursuing nuclear ‍weapons. Though,‍ he stated that if the‌ aim‍ is to prevent ‌Iran‌ from ‌engaging in peaceful ​nuclear activities, no agreement will be reached.

Araqchi stressed‍ that diplomacy is the best way to resolve issues. He affirmed that Iran will ​continue negotiations to protect the rights of its people and will not accept‌ sanctions.
