The Russian ambassador to the United Nations, Vassily Nebenzia, accused the United States and Israel of disseminating disinformation regarding Iran’s nuclear program.Nebenzia alleged this disinformation serves as a pretext for potential military action against Iran.
Speaking before the UN Security Council on Tuesday, Nebenzia condemned recent strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, calling them illegal under international law. He warned that these attacks have “created a real threat” of radioactive contamination. The ambassador emphasized the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) reports, which, according to Nebenzia, demonstrate “the absence of proliferation risks” in Iran’s nuclear activities.
