Iranian President Massoud Fezezhikian stated that Israel is attempting to drag Iran into war, but Iran ‍is exercising restraint.

“What Israel did in the region‌ and what Iran tried to assassinate Haniyeh was to drag us into ‌a regional war,” President ⁣Fezeshkian said ⁤in his first domestic and foreign press conference since taking office, according to Reuters.

“We‍ have ⁢exercised self-restraint so far, but we have the right to defend ourselves in a certain⁣ way at a certain time and in a certain place,” he⁢ added.

Iran announced retaliation after Haniyeh, who visited the capital ⁢Tehran to attend the president’s inauguration ceremony, was assassinated ⁢by ‍Israel on July 31.

However, the battle continues as Iran’s ‘proxy forces’, Hezbollah and Houthi rebels, attack Israel and⁤ Israel responds.

President ⁤Fezeshkian did not clearly deny the allegations that Iran is selling ballistic missiles ⁢to Russia.

“This‌ has not happened in our time,”⁣ he said, as if ⁢he‌ could not comment on the agreement reached by former President Ebrahim Raisi. “I will not⁤ comment on what happened in the past, but it is possible and nothing is forbidden.”
