Iran, U.S. to Resume nuclear Talks in Muscat Amid Diplomatic​ Role

Iran-US Talks: June 15 Date Set for 6th Round

A new round of indirect nuclear talks between Iran and the United States will take place next Sunday in Muscat, Oman, according to Iran’s Foreign Ministry. This‌ follows President Trump’s earlier indication that⁤ discussions were expected sooner.

Esmaeil Baqaei, Iran’s foreign ⁤ministry spokesman, confirmed the upcoming ⁢talks.Foreign Minister ⁢Abbas Araghchi, also ‍the chief negotiator, is scheduled ‌to attend norway’s Oslo Forum this week, a gathering focused on conflict mediation.

Since April, Iran and the U.S.⁣ have engaged in five rounds of talks aimed⁢ at salvaging a nuclear agreement. The original 2015 accord,involving major world powers,was ​abandoned by Trump in 2018.

Following the fifth round ‌on May 31, Iran acknowledged receiving “elements” of a‍ U.S. proposal, ‍though Araghchi noted “ambiguities” within⁤ the text.

Earlier this week, Iran stated that‍ the U.S. proposal lacked key‍ aspects from prior‌ negotiations. They plan ‍to ⁢present a “reasonable, logical‍ and balanced”
