Ireland Baldwin Honors Parents Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin

Kim Basinger shared a birthday tribute to Alec Baldwin on April 3 via Instagram, featuring a throwback clip from their 1991 film The Marrying Man.

The post coincided with the upcoming 35th anniversary of the romantic comedy, which occurs on April 5, 2026. In the shared clip, Basinger and Baldwin are seen portraying their characters, Vicki Anderson and Charley Pearl, during one of the film’s onscreen breakups.

Ireland Baldwin, 30, responded to the tribute by commenting on the genetic contributions of her parents.

That’s my parents! Ireland wrote in the comments section, adding, That’s why I’m so smokin HOT.

Alec Baldwin, 68, expressed his gratitude for the gesture, describing the shoutout as remarkably kind and completely unexpected. He addressed Basinger as Vicky Vale in his response.

Basinger used the caption of her post to reflect on the lasting impact of the project, noting that while the characters Vicki and Charlie may have lived happily ever after, real life involved OTHER PLANS.

Relationship and Career History

Baldwin and Basinger first met on the set of The Marrying Man. The pair married in 1993, though they later separated in 2000 and finalized their divorce in 2002.
