Ireland Ranks Second in Europe for Hybrid and Remote Jobs
Ireland Remains a Flexible Work Haven: Hybrid and Remote Jobs thrive
dublin, Ireland – Ireland continues to be a leader in flexible work arrangements across Europe, ranking second only to the UK in hybrid and remote job postings on LinkedIn in October.
While the overall availability of remote and hybrid roles has dipped slightly across Europe compared to last year, Ireland bucks the trend, showcasing a strong commitment to flexible work options.Small Businesses Lead the Charge
LinkedIn data reveals that smaller Irish companies, those with less than 250 employees, are particularly embracing remote work. Nearly 13% of all hires by these employers are in fully remote positions. This trend marks a shift from the previous year, when larger enterprises with over 5,000 employees dominated remote hiring, accounting for almost 14% of all hires.
Hybrid Work Remains Popular
Despite the slight dip in remote roles, hybrid work remains highly popular in Ireland. Over 37% of all job postings in October offered hybrid arrangements, with an additional 8% advertising fully remote positions.
“Despite the decline in the availability of remote and hybrid roles in Ireland compared to last year, flexible work opportunities remain extremely popular with Irish workers,” said Sue Duke, LinkedIn Ireland Country Manager.
Versatility as a Competitive Edge
Duke emphasizes the importance of flexible work options for attracting top talent in a competitive job market. “Job seekers are clearly looking for flexibility at work, whether that be remote or hybrid, and this can be a way for organizations to stand out to potential candidates especially in a tight labor market.”
While some large companies are encouraging a return to the office, the data suggests that Ireland’s largest companies are actually increasing their share of hybrid roles. This, coupled with Ireland’s continued leadership in offering flexible work, indicates that flexibility is here to stay.
