Trained by Aidan O’Brien, this Irish 1,000 Guineas victory marks a return to form for Lake Victoria, who had an undefeated streak that included a Breeders’ Cup win. Jockey Ryan Moore guided the filly along the rail before she surged ahead of 50-1 outsider California Dreamer, winning by two-and-a-quarter lengths. Cercene (20-1) finished third.
