Davey Todd Secures Thrilling isle of Man TT Superbike Victory

Davey Todd triumphed in a captivating Isle of Man TT Superbike race,narrowly defeating Michael Dunlop after a race shortened to four laps. Teh 29-year-old rider, piloting his 8TEN Racing BMW, maintained a slender 1.2-second advantage over Dunlop at the finish line. Todd’s fastest lap, clocked at an notable 135.327 mph on the final circuit, solidified his victory in the Superbike race.
This win marks Todd’s third Isle of Man TT victory. The Yorkshireman previously secured wins in the Superstock and Senior races earlier in 2024. Todd, a two-time British Superstock 1000cc champion, established an early lead of 7.9 seconds after the first lap, which slightly decreased to 7.1 seconds after the second lap. however, a pit stop cost him valuable time, reducing his lead to a mere 0.2 seconds as the riders approached Glen Helen on the final lap. Despite the pressure, Todd rallied to claim the Isle of Man TT Superbike title, with Dean Harrison of Honda Racing finishing third, 43.5 seconds behind.
“I’m over the moon, this feels sweet. the boys have done a fantastic job,” todd told Radio TT after the race.
Todd also acknowledged pre-race jitters, stating, “I was more nervous than ever this morning but I knew we had the pace and didn’t want to show too much in practice.” He further credited his team’s efforts, adding, “I lost a bunch of time in the pitstop so I had to put my head down on the last lap. Thanks to everyone who created this team over the past three months.” The motorcycle racing community celebrates Todd’s achievement in this prestigious event.
