Israel Claims Responsibility for Killing Hamas Leader Ismail Haniyeh

Israel Admits to Assassinating Hamas Leader in ⁢Tehran

Israeli Defense minister Confirms Role ⁤in July Killing, Threatens Similar Actions Against Houthi Leaders

(NewsDirectory3.com) – In⁣ a stunning admission, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz publicly confirmed‍ on Monday that Israel ‌was‌ responsible for the assassination of Ismail‍ Haniyeh, the political leader of the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas, ⁢in Tehran‍ on July‌ 31st.

this confirmation marks ⁤the first time Israeli ⁣officials have openly acknowledged their involvement in the killing. While Iran⁤ and ‍Hamas ⁢had promptly blamed Israel for⁣ the attack, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials‍ had remained silent on⁤ the matter.

“We will severely paralyze⁤ the Houthis, damage their ⁤strategic infrastructure, and‌ kill their leaders, just as we did⁣ with Haniyeh, ‍(Yahya) Sinwar, and (Hassan) Nasrallah, in ‍Tehran, Gaza, and⁢ Lebanon,” Katz declared during ‌a meeting with the Israeli military. “We will do the ⁣same ‌in ⁤Hodeidah and Sana (Yemen).”

Haniyeh, a former leader⁤ of Hamas, was in tehran attending the inauguration of Iranian President Masud⁢ Pezeshkian when he‌ was ⁤killed. ⁢His death, along with the killings of Hezbollah⁣ leader Hassan Nasrallah and Iranian Brigadier⁢ General‍ Abbas Nilforushan in Beirut on September 27th, sparked a fierce exchange of hostilities between Israel and Iran.

Iran retaliated for the deaths ‍of⁤ Nasrallah⁣ and Nilforushan by launching approximately ‌200 ballistic missiles at‍ Israel on October 1st. Yahya sinwar, another hamas leader targeted by Israel and mentioned by Katz, was killed in an attack in the Gaza Strip on October 17th.

The ⁤Houthi rebels ⁢in‌ Yemen, ‌who have been engaged ⁤in⁢ a protracted conflict with Saudi ⁣Arabia, ⁢a⁤ close U.S. ⁢ally, have also⁣ targeted ships linked to Israel in the ‌Red‍ Sea and Arabian ‌Sea‌ in recent months, citing solidarity⁤ with the Palestinian people in Gaza.

Katz’s statement signals a potential escalation of tensions in the Middle ⁢east, especially with the Houthis in Yemen. The U.S. has been deeply ‍involved⁢ in the Yemeni conflict, providing support to the Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis.

Israel Admits⁢ to Hamas Leader’s‍ Assassination: A Conversation

Sarah: Did you ⁤hear about⁢ what israel just admitted?

david: No, what happened?

Sarah: They finally confirmed⁢ that they ⁣assassinated Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas leader, back in July in Tehran.

David: ‍Wow, ⁢that’s huge! I⁤ remember hearing about Haniyeh’s death,‌ but I didn’t⁣ know for sure who was responsible.

Sarah: Apparently, the Israeli Defense Minister,⁣ Israel Katz, ⁤just publicly confirmed it. He even said they⁢ would target other Houthi leaders in Yemen.

David: Yemen? What does Yemen ⁣have to do⁤ with this?

Sarah: Israel‌ views⁣ the⁢ Houthis as ⁣allies of Hamas and Iran. ⁣Remember the recent attacks in the Red Sea and Arabian ⁢Sea on ships⁤ linked to Israel? The Houthis claimed duty, saying ⁣they were acting in solidarity with Palestinians.

David: So, Israel sees this as connected?

Sarah: Exactly. Katz even threatened to “severely paralyze” the Houthis and “damage their strategic infrastructure” just ‍like they did with Haniyeh.

david: This seems like a dangerous escalation. What’s the‍ reaction from Iran and the Houthis?

Sarah: Iran is obviously furious. ⁣They’ve already retaliated against‌ Israel for the death of other leaders ‌like Hassan nasrallah‍ in Beirut.‌ Remember those missile attacks back in October?

David: ⁢ I do, that was intense. And what about the Houthis?

Sarah: I ⁤imagine they⁢ won’t take this ⁢lying down either. ⁤The ⁣situation in Yemen is already dire, and now this could make things even more volatile.

David: This whole situation is terrifying.
