Thousands of people gathered in Tel⁤ Aviv on Saturday, June​ 28, at the‌ “Place des Otages,” renewing calls for the release of 50 captives still held in Gaza.The demonstration, interrupted for two weeks‌ due to the war in Iran, echoed the now-familiar chant: “NOW!” The hostages have been detained as the Hamas attack on Israeli territory on oct. ⁤7, 2023.

Israeli authorities report that of the 50 captives, 20 are still alive (18 civilians and two soldiers, all men), 28 have died, and two others are presumed dead,‌ having ⁤shown ⁣no signs of life.

The swift resolution claimed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the conflict with Iran has fueled frustration among the families. gil Dickmann, a prominent figure⁤ in the Families des Familles des‌ Otages, questioned the government’s role.
