US President Donald Trump has stated that ten more hostages are expected to be released from Gaza “shortly,” though he provided no further details.Speaking at a White House dinner, Trump praised the efforts of his special envoy, Steve Witkoff, in facilitating these potential releases.”We got most of the hostages back. We’re going to have another 10 coming very shortly, and we hope to have that finished quickly,” Trump remarked. He has, for weeks, expressed optimism about an imminent ceasefire and hostage-release deal, though an agreement has remained elusive.Israeli and Hamas negotiators have been engaged in the latest round of talks in Doha since July 6th, discussing a US-backed proposal for a 60-day ceasefire. This proposal reportedly includes the return of ten hostages and the bodies of eighteen others, in exchange for the release of Palestinian detainees held by Israel.
A spokesperson for Hamas’s armed wing indicated that the group favors an interim truce but may revert to demanding a thorough deal to end the conflict if current negotiations falter. Both Israel and Hamas have accused each other of hindering progress towards an agreement.
Houthi Missile Attack on Israel Intercepted

Escalating Conflict and Humanitarian Toll
