The Israeli Navy has partially intercepted the Global Sumud Flotilla in international waters off the coast of Greece. The convoy, which was attempting to reach the Gaza Strip, saw at least 22 of its vessels boarded by Israeli forces.
The flotilla had departed from Sicily on April 26, 2026. Among the vessels seized during the operation was the convoy’s mothership, the SAF SAF.
Operational Details
According to communication records and tracking data from the organization, the flotilla’s emergency channels and communication systems were intercepted prior to the boarding of the vessels.

Despite the interference, the flotilla managed to transmit SOS alerts and broadcast live images showing soldiers boarding the decks of the ships.
Detentions and Official Confirmation
The Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the results of the operation in a post on the social media platform X. The ministry stated that 175 activists were detained during the interception.
