What Happened?
A fire broke out at the Le constellation nightclub in Crans-Montana, Switzerland, on new Year’s Eve, resulting in numerous injuries and several people reported missing. the incident prompted an immediate investigation into the cause of the fire and the club’s adherence to safety regulations.
According to the Swiss ambassador to Italy,as of January 2,2026,13 Italian citizens have been identified among the injured, and 11 remain unaccounted for. Swiss authorities report that of the 119 people injured in the fire, the identities of 14 remain unconfirmed.
Investigation and Safety Concerns
An investigation,led by Béatrice Pilloud,the chief prosecutor of the canton of Valais,is underway to determine the cause of the rapid fire spread and to verify whether Le Constellation complied with all applicable safety regulations.
