The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) announced changes to the ITTF World Para Circuit. This new structure aims to enhance Para table tennis globally.
The updated circuit includes a new logo, three event tiers, a revised ranking system, and over 20 events in different countries. ITTF President Petra Sörling highlighted the goal: “The ITTF World Para Circuit will elevate Para table tennis, especially ahead of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.”
New Three-Tier Event Structure: Future, Challenger, and Elite
The revamped ITTF World Para Circuit 2025 will feature three event tiers: Future, Challenger, and Elite. Each tier helps Para players progress and compete at different levels.
Future Events introduce new talent to international play, helping them develop their skills and rankings.
Challenger Events offer exciting competitions with up to eight events each year.
Elite Events showcase top players in thrilling matches, identifying champions in Para table tennis.
Additionally, the ITTF plans to introduce youth events. Successful formats may become a permanent part of future circuits.
Butterfly table tennis products will serve as the Official Ball Partner for the ITTF World Para Elite 2025. Their Three-Star Ball R40+ will enhance the quality of matches.
Expanding Global Reach: Over 20 Events Worldwide
The 2025 calendar includes more than 20 events across every continent. This makes it the most global Para circuit ever created by the ITTF. Fans can connect with athletes worldwide.
ITTF CEO Steve Dainton stated, “Expanding our circuit is essential to create more opportunities for players and enhance fan engagement.”
Continental Championships will take place in Brazil, China, Egypt, New Zealand, and Sweden in Autumn 2025, broadening the sport’s accessibility.

Revamped Ranking System Boosting Participation
The ITTF will implement a new ranking system that simplifies player advancement. Players earn points based on their event performances. Rankings will reflect results from the last 52 weeks and will update weekly.
A one-year transition allows players to retain current points while adjusting to the new system. This clear pathway aims to make it easier for players to rise in ranks.
The Para table tennis community eagerly anticipates the ITTF World Para Circuit 2025, looking forward to exciting competitions in all three tiers.
