This initiative aims to provide unparalleled opportunities for aspiring umpires to gain invaluable experience on the international stage.
From Buenos Aires to Europe: A Journey of Growth
The impact of such programs is best illustrated through personal experiences. Take, as an example, the story of an umpire whose journey began at the YOG in Buenos Aires. Initially nervous about their first international experience, they found immense support and camaraderie among fellow participants.
“YOG in Buenos Aires was my first international experience, and honestly,I was pretty nervous at first,” they shared. “But I met some amazing people there, and that made things so much easier. After that,I couldn’t wait to keep going and travelling for table tennis. As then, I’ve gone to many tournaments around Europe, sometimes even with friends I met in Argentina.”
This personal account highlights the transformative power of these developmental programs, fostering not onyl professional growth but also lifelong friendships and a passion for the sport.
