The ITTF World Para Future Series is set to make its Asian debut in Taipei from June 26-29, marking a significant expansion for the circuit. Following accomplished tournaments in Europe and the Americas, the competition now heads to Chinese Taipei, a nation renowned for hosting world-class para table tennis events.
Kaohsiung will host the tournament, where local athletes Cheng Ming Chih and Yen Po Dog, both silver medalists at the Paris 2024 Paralympics, are eager to compete for gold on their home tables. Their performances in France highlighted the growth of para table tennis in Chinese Taipei, making them key players to watch.
However, they will face stiff competition from Korea Republic’s Kim Jung-Gil and Cha Soo Yong, who each secured bronze medals in Paris. These seasoned athletes are determined to maintain their momentum as the series progresses.
Earlier in June, the ITTF World Para Future Ostrava 2025 in the Czech Republic showcased European talent.Poland emerged as a dominant force, achieving success in both men’s and women’s events. The Czech Republic earned praise for hosting a well-organized and engaging tournament.
