Romania Gears Up to Host World Youth table⁤ Tennis Championships

Cluj-Napoca, Romania, is preparing to host the ITTF World Youth Table Tennis Championships from Nov. 23-30, 2025.‌ The event promises to⁣ showcase emerging talent and celebrate romania’s table tennis⁢ heritage.

The Romanian delegation is entering the competition⁣ with confidence after a strong ⁤showing at the ITTF World Youth Championships Finals 2024 in Helsingborg, Sweden. Iulian Chirița, Darius Movileanu, Dragoș Bujor, and Andrei Istrate were part of the U19 boys’ team that clinched a bronze medal.

The team’s journey to the podium included a 3-1 victory over Brazil and ​a 3-2 quarterfinal win against france. Movileanu secured a crucial victory against Flavien Coton in five ​sets, while Chirița sealed the overall win‍ against‍ Nathan Lam. Although they lost to China in the semifinals, their bronze marked a historic achievement for Romanian table tennis.
