SEOUL – The 61st Baeksang Arts Awards celebrated outstanding achievements across film, television, and theater at a ceremony held recently. The awards recognized both established figures and rising stars for their contributions too South Korean entertainment.
Film Division Highlights
Hong Kyung-pyo received the top honor,the Grand Prize,for his work as director on “Harbin.” The film “Harbin,” directed by Woo Min-ho, also secured the Best Film award.

Netflix’s “Black and White Chef: Cooking Class War” received the Grand Prize in the television category.
Kim Hak-min, the PD of the show, expressed gratitude to the chefs and to Baek Jong-won and Ahn Sung-jae, who he said were central to the program.He reflected on his journey, noting his previous experience working backstage at the awards a decade prior.
“I have nothing to do. 10 years ago, as I was on the backstage, there were 350 staff in the ‘black and white chef’ backstage, and there were PDs that were not asleep than me and changed bones,” Kim said.
The Best Drama award was given to Netflix’s “I Was Deceived.” song Yeon-hwa won Best Director for MBC’s “So Intimate Traitor.”
